Turnaround - Factors that can affect order delivery times?

Solution

As stated on our products page, our turnaround time is 3-7 working days for production of non bulk orders (bulk = 5+ items in a single order) + Australia Post shipping time. The production time does not include weekends and public holidays.

This time starts when a order is marked "In Production" and day 1 is 24hrs later.

Please remember, this is not an off the shelf product. If your customer is asking you where their order is after a week, you may need to update your customers expectations. Here's why.

If an order takes the maximum amount of time required, depending on the day of the week it was ordered, this could be up to 12 physical days, or almost 2 weeks. This is the worst case scenario, but does happen.

Here is another example. Your customer places the order on a Friday and you place the order Friday afternoon. The order won't be in-production until Monday morning, therefore minimum Thursday it goes out. This is 6 physical days, or almost 1 week. Please manage YOUR customer expectations.

Why is my order still saying "In Production"?

If your order is past the 4 day mark, and is still saying" In Production", typically this means that it had at least one item out of stock, and we are waiting for a new shipment to arrive. Generally we print the same day it arrives. If you did want to followup on the status of an order, you can submit a ticket, stating the order number.

What factors can affect the production time of your order?

There are many moving parts associated with producing your order, even if its just 1 item. Here's briefly what's required and what can go wrong.

Firstly, we need to have vast amounts of stock on hand - and it's not always possible to have everything available at any given time. Things can be delayed if a Manufacturers orders is arriving late or is fulfilled wrong. Then we have to print it - production time can be quick, but sometimes things go wrong. Later we do QC - we quality control your item - sometime items have to go back for re-printing. This could result it a stock issue for that item. Finally your item needs to be bagged, packed and made available for Australia post.

Here are the main reasons an order is delayed, in order of importance.

1. Items Out of Stock

For stocked items our turnaround is 3 working days. Sometimes orders (can and do) go out in 2 days, but this depends on the volume of orders on any particular day.

We do try to keep popular items in stock, however, as we hold a significant amount of stock, the actual levels can fluctuate quite significantly. With so many item/colour/size variations items do go out of stock.

If we don't have something in-stock, at the time of ordering, we have to get stock delivered; which can add 2-4 days to an order.

Ordering colours/styles not in our official core range will also add extra time to your order, as the colour/style will be added to our next stock order for that brand, which might only be once weekly. Then we wait for the tee to arrive to print. This could mean order times blow out to 10 working days before despatch. Although, we endeavour to print the tee as soon as it arrives.

2. Sample Orders

You can expect a small delay with sample items (...or any first time order).

Why? First we manually check over your order, and then we set up your first time payment and discuss procedures and any other issues.

Generally, we find there are some integration issues that need to be fixed. We talk with you to make sure everything is working the way it should.

When everything is set up, then your order is manually moved to Status: "In Production"

3. Neck label Re-branding Set-up

Set up for neck-label re-branding may add some extra production time to an order. Generally up to (2) days.

4. Orders submitted with errors

Please check your order in the dashboard before you press the "Click to Order" button.

If your order is submitted with an error - this will cause delays.

Please make sure all the custom fields (artwork file, style code, wholesale prices) are correct and properly configured.

Can you see the customer data (size, colour) fields? If you can't see all these things, there may be a problem.

If you're not sure, you can still submit your order (we will help you!). Just remember, this will slow your order getting to production.

5. Failure to make payments for submitted orders

If you want us to ship your orders promptly, you need to pay us promptly, or when we request it.

All your submitted orders (and invoices) can be viewed in the dashboard.

Failure to pay on time could result in your account marked as pre-payment only. This will delay your orders.

Holiday Time!

Holiday time is great, Boy, do we all need a break, sometimes! Leading up to that time, eg, the wonderfulness leading up to Christmas, can add more time to our usual turnaround times, as discussed above.

This is due simply to the increased demand for garments, which means, the garment suppliers take longer to process their inundation of stock orders, the freight companies take longer to deliver those orders, plus the possible delays, as mentioned above.

Then, keep in mind, once the order does go out, Australia Post takes longer to deliver, due to the delivery network flushed with an increased load.

Have a read of our notice(s) below, which we will update as the relevant holiday approaches.
