Shopify - Trouble shooting your Shopify Connection

Solution

RE: Troubleshooting Shopify

Caution
If you sign up for or downgrade your plan to either the Basic Shopify plan or the Shopify Starter plan, then you won't have access to Custom Level 2 Personally Identifiable Information (PII) apps.

Re: Products

If you can't see your products in the Dropshirt dashboard, try the following:

Is there a problem with the API connection?

  1. Check you have the right 'API Key' and the right 'Admin API Access Token' information entered correctly in the right fields.
  2. Private App permissions are not set properly
  3. Make sure there is no (https://) nor anything after the (.com) in the URL field
  4. URL field has the Shopify URL not the website domain (---.myshopifyl.com)

Are your permissions set correctly? The following permissions are required for the dashboard products page to work.

write_customers, read_customers, write_draft_orders, read_draft_orders, write_fulfillments, read_fulfillments, write_inventory, read_inventory, write_orders, read_orders, write_products, read_products, write_order_edits, read_order_edits

Re: Orders

If you can't see Shopify orders in the Dropshirt dashboard, then check the following:

Is there a problem with the Shopify order status?

  1. Ensure your orders, in Shopify, are in the 'Unfulfilled' Status. Fulfilled orders do not show in the list.
  2. Ensure at least one product in the order is 'Enabled' for Dropshipping. Only orders relevant to Dropshirt will show on the Orders page.
  3. If there is a "Next' Button keep clicking Next until you get to the end. Customers who sell other products and only a few drop shipping orders might experience this. Sadly, this is due to Shopify API pagination not able to sort out relevant orders. We are working on a solution.

Are your permissions set correctly? The following permissions are required for the dashboard orders page to work.

write_customers, read_customers, write_draft_orders, read_draft_orders, write_fulfillments, read_fulfillments, write_inventory, read_inventory, write_orders, read_orders, write_products, read_products, write_order_edits, read_order_edits

Re: Webhook Update

If you are getting the following error/email:
"A developer needs to update your private apps and/or admin webhooks"
"Your apps are making deprecated API calls"

You need to update your Webhook API Version to the latest version - which will have the word (latest) next to it - which is currently: '2023-01 (latest)'

Re: Shopify - since 2024

Caution
If you sign up for or downgrade your plan to either the Basic Shopify plan or the Shopify Starter plan, then you won't have access to Custom Level 2 Personally Identifiable Information (PII) apps.
https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/apps/app-types/custom-apps

If you are on Level 1 - The Shopify API is now not providing customer information like name, email, phone number, and address because of privacy and data protection of the customer data in their API.
https://shopify.dev/docs/apps/store/data-protection/protected-customer-data

For now, we have made changes so that we can access the orders - except for the customer information - for the affected accounts. Please email us the shipping information instead.

If Still No Luck

If you are still getting issues you can give us access to your Shopify store so someone from the Dropshirt team can check your setup.

This support is free for Dropshippers who have orders needing to be fulfilled and are piling up - we will help.

For anyone who has just started - as we state on our website pages - we are not responsible for the set up of your store: you are. Support is available from our development team (Fees Apply).

*Don't panic: you can still use Shopify to sell your designs, without the integration being complete. The intergration is only useful if you have orders needing fulfilment.
