Transfer Printing Service: What's Involved?

Solution

A Digital Transfer is where a design is printed on a vinyl medium, the shape cut out, and the background removed by weeding. The final piece is then applied to the item with a heat press.

We use this print method on the front of caps, but can also add additional prints to T-Shirt and Hoodie Sleeves.

Depending on the artwork that is supplied, and how detailed the design, the transfer can be in the following types:

Patch - Suits Artwork Type: Non Vector (.JPG, .PNG, .GIF)

This is a patch style Transfer. You can choose between a square or a rounded patch.

If you have a pixel graphic and you want a cut line like the bubble cut of the flush weeded, you will need to include an additional vector cut line.

Or we can create one for an additional fee. Usually $45.00+GST one time fee. (This is additional to the transfer set up fee.)

Bubble Cut - Suits Artwork Type: True Vector (.PDF, .EPS)

This type is for small designs where the detail is too small to do a flush weeded design.

If you are not sure we will advise.

The size of the bubble will need to be large enough to accommodate the finest detail.

Weeded Bubble - Suits Artwork Type: True Vector (.PDF, .EPS)

This is also a bubble cut, but the design is large enough to allow for weeding within the design. (IE: Inside the letter "O" and the "G")

Flush Weeded - Suits Artwork Type: True Vector (.PDF, .EPS)

The final one is the flush weeded design where we are able to cut right up to the edge of the entire design.

Advantages: Cost effective for small designs that are easily weeded. Polyester fabrics, and hard to access print positions.

Limitation: Fades and blends on the edges of the design don't work.

Set Up Price:
Caps: $29.00 + gst per design
T-Shirts: Short Sleeves: $29.00 + gst per design; Long Sleeves: $32.50 + gst per design
Hoodie Sleeves: $32.50 + gst per design

We will assess each design and product for suitability.
Then the only ongoing cost is the cost of applying the transfer to the Tee/Hoodie = $10.00+gst per print

Set up the transfer print as usual, but use a png for ongoing orders - add into your PNG graphic USE TRANSFER - we keep the vector art on file

If your product has 3 print positions, you will have to place a manual order - a future build of our Dropshirt software will allow an addition of the third print in your Dashboard settings
