How Much Will I Make When Selling a T-Shirt?

Solution

How much will you make per shirt if you sell them at $30

How much you will make will depend on what shirt you choose to print your design on.

Here are our prices: https://www.dropshirt.com.au/product-pricing/

The way it works is you make the difference between what we charge you and what you charge your customer.

Here is an example:

Our prices start at 12.75 (+ GST $1.27) = $14.02 (This is what we charge you)

If you sell for $30.00 (27.27 (less GST of $2.73)

You will potentially make $15.98

However, you will (potentially) owe the ATO the difference between what you paid us for GST and what you charge your customer GST. (In this case $1.46)

This is called the GST offset = $2.73 - 1.27 = $1.46

In this case, this would be the net amount after you talk to an accountant.

NET: $14.49 per shirt

*We are not taking shipping into consideration as it is usual to charge this amount to the customer.

PS: * This is not tax or financial advise. You will need to talk to a accountant to get specific advise that is suited to your own personal circumstances.
